Your First Visit: What to Expect

A Comfortable Beginning to Personalized Care

Visiting a new massage therapist can come with questions, especially if you're seeking treatment for pain, recovering from an injury, or experiencing therapeutic massage for the first time.

At 4 Wellness & 4 Healing, LLC, we want you to feel comfortable, informed, and confident about your care before you even walk through our doors.

Here's what you can expect.

1. Before Your Appointment

Once your appointment is scheduled, you may be asked to complete an intake form to help us better understand your health history, current concerns, and treatment goals.

Please provide accurate information about any medical conditions, recent surgeries, injuries, medications, or areas of discomfort.

Certain health conditions may require additional information or medical clearance before treatment.

Helpful tip: Arrive a few minutes early, wear comfortable clothing, and avoid eating a heavy meal immediately before your session.

2. Your Initial Consultation

Your appointment begins with a conversation.

We'll discuss what brought you in, where you're experiencing discomfort, how your symptoms affect your daily activities, and what you hope to accomplish through massage therapy.

Depending on your concerns, we may also evaluate posture, movement, or areas of muscular restriction to help guide your treatment.

This is also your opportunity to ask questions and express any concerns.

Your care begins with listening, not assumptions.

3. Your Personalized Treatment

No two bodies are exactly alike, and your massage shouldn't be either.

Your treatment may include therapeutic massage, myofascial techniques, gentle stretching, or other appropriate approaches based on your needs and comfort.

You will be given privacy to prepare for your session. You may undress only to your comfort level, and professional draping will be used throughout treatment.

Communication is encouraged. You may request adjustments to pressure, positioning, or treatment areas at any time.

You are always in control of your comfort and may pause or stop treatment whenever needed.

4. After Your Session

Before you leave, we'll discuss how you responded to treatment, any changes you noticed, and recommendations that may support your comfort between visits.

Depending on your individual needs, recommendations may include gentle movement, stretching, activity modifications, or follow-up care.

Some individuals experience temporary soreness following therapeutic massage, while others notice changes in comfort or movement. Responses vary, and immediate relief is not guaranteed.

Our focus is on helping you make informed decisions about your ongoing wellness.

5. Your Care, Your Pace

Some individuals benefit from occasional therapeutic massage, while others may require more consistent care based on their symptoms, condition, and goals.

We will discuss recommendations when appropriate, but you will never be pressured into scheduling unnecessary appointments.

Our goal is to provide thoughtful care that respects your needs, time, and resources.

A Few Things We Want You to Know

  • You don't have to be pain-free to begin. We'll discuss your symptoms and determine whether massage therapy is appropriate for your situation.

  • You don't have to apologize for your body. Every individual deserves dignity, privacy, and respectful care.

  • Massage doesn't have to hurt to be effective. Treatment pressure and techniques should be appropriate for your condition and comfort.

  • Your questions are always welcome. Understanding your care is an important part of the process.

Ready for Your First Visit?

Whether you're seeking relief from persistent muscle tension, recovering from an injury, or taking a proactive approach to wellness, we look forward to welcoming you.
